On November 26, Robert McAllister will present his new
book: Predator Priest, a novel. Father Brown is a new
pastor in a small Montana parish. A boy dies alone with
Brown. Bob Lee, psychiatrist-turned-rancher and
Brown’s confidant, tells the story with candor and compassion,
citing the church’s limitations, and challenging
the reader’s preconceptions.

Dr. McAllister earned a Ph.D. in Psychology, worked his
way through Georgetown Medical School, and practiced
psychiatry for 50 years before retirement. He was superintendent
of the Nevada State Hospital in Reno and State
Director of Mental Health for five years. He taught at several
Catholic Universities. In addition, he provided lectures,
workshops, treatment, and consultations for priests
and nuns throughout the U.S. and Venezuela.
McAllister has written several books–two related to the
life of religious: Conflict in Community and Living the
Vows: Emotional Conflicts of Celibate Religious. He was
married twice and recently wrote An Alzheimer’s Love
Story based on his last years with his second wife, Jane.
He is now 98 years old and lives in Columbia, Maryland.

CONFIRMATION
The Sacrament of Confirmation is scheduled for Friday, April 20 at 5:30pm.

Our next gathering of Confirmation Candidates will be Saturday, December 16 which will lead into the Confirmation CORE classes in January.

While we have already begun preparation for the Sacrament for those who are in tenth grade or older, there is still time to engage in the process. Please contact Scott Miller ASAP at scott.miller@sjerc,org
