The Social Action Box on Holy Thursday will support people in need. These funds help people who have lost their jobs or are having financial difficulties. The funds are used to help with rent, mortgages, utilities, medical and food.

The 2nd collection on Holy Thursday will support Catholic Relief Service’s Operation Rice Bowl. During this Lenten season we have learned about our Global Brothers and Sisters in need and kept them close in pray-er at our dinner tables. Your donations bring lifesaving aid for millions living in conditions of poverty, bringing them HOPE.

The collection on Good Friday will support Holy Land Shrines. It is taken up to help provide for the upkeep of holy sites and support the pastoral, charitable, education-al and social works of Christians in the Holy Land.

The Social Action Box for March 31-April 1 will support the Columbia Pregnancy Center which is a non-profit organization supported solely by individual and organiza-tional contributions. They are a community-based center, and make their services and resources available for free to anyone who may need them.

The 2nd collection for March 31-April 1 will fund the Parish’s support of Archdiocesan Catholic Schools. St. Johns pays an assessment to the Archdiocese of $65,655 a year. This collection helps to offset that expense which in turn helps to keep our Catholic Schools operational.
